MEDICAL MANAGER GRADE

SALARY : Grade 1: R1 173 900 – R1 302 849 per annum Grade 2: R1 342 230 – R1 534 680 per annum All-inclusive package consists of 70% basic salary and 30% flexible portion that may be structured in terms of the applicable rules, Plus Commuted Overtime Medical aid (Optional) Benefits: 13th cheque, medical aid and housing allowance (optional and provided the Incumbent meets the requirements) CENTRE : Northdale Hospital: Pietermaritzburg

REQUIREMENTS : MBCHB qualification; PLUS Registration with the Health Professions Council of South Africa (HPCSA) as a Medical Practitioner PLUS A minimum of three (3) years appropriate experience after registration with HPCSA as a Medical Practitioner of which two (2) years must be in supervisory/management capacity in a Health Institution Unendorsed valid Code B driving license (Code 08). NB: All shortlisted candidates will be required to submit proof of work experience endorsed and stamped by employer/s prior to the date of the interview.

The incumbent of this post will report to the CEO Knowledge, Skills, Training And Competencies Required:- Appropriate experience of managing Clinical Services, Strong leadership skills, excellent negotiation, facilitation and communication skills (written and verbal ),Knowledge and skills in dealing with relevant Medico legal matters, Possess knowledge of relevant legislation such as Nation Health Act, Pharmacy Act, Labour relations act, Public Act, Basic conditions of service Act, Occupational Health and Safety Act, Medical and allied Health Professionals Act, Public Finance Management Act (PMF),Have strategic capability and leadership, programme, project management and financial management, Have service delivery innovation and knowledge of problem solving and analysis, communication, client orientation and customer focus, Willing to be available after hours.

DUTIES : Achieve universal health coverage, access to quality essential health care services and safe, effective, quality essential medicines and vaccines for citizens within the catchment area, To Improve health indicators, decrease Morbidity and Mortality, Effective efficient management of Medical Services, Pharmaceutical service, Rehabilitation Service, Radiology Service, Dietetic Service, Psychology Service, Social Work Service, Crisis Centre Service, Provide strategic leadership in the delivery of integrated district health services based on a relevant policy, Develop and implement an annual business plan/operational plan for service delivery based for each the Medical and Allied Health Component, based on current needs assessment and priorities. To improve health indicators, decrease morbidity and mortality, Oversee clinical Governance to ensure high level of care, ensure the effective, efficient and economical management of allocated resources, Ability to develop policies, sound negotiation, planning, organizing, decision making and conflict management skills, Maintain optimal utilization of human resource and drive procurement of medical equipment.
